This is probably the easiest, most basic detox diet on my site. Here is the lowdown:

1. Find some organic pure cranberry juice – This is probably THE HARDEST part of the diet. Please read the ingredients before buying your juice. Real cranberry juice is NOT sweet (and don’t get cheap and get the non-organic one).

2. Drink at least 48oz per day for 10 days

OK, OK, so there is a “little” more to it, but not much. This diet is great for cleansing the system (especially the kidneys) while being easy and good for you.

Although drinking this much liquid should help in getting rid of the toxins you start to pull from the body, it may be a good idea to add some intestinal movement formula, or some detox herbal tea to keep the “gunk” flowing out of your body. There is nothing worse than re-absorbing toxins you release back into your blood. If you start feeling a bit sick when you start the cleanse (or any cleanse for that matter) you many not be flushing your colon enough. The magic time seems to be 15 minutes after drinking a cleansing liquid. Try to be conscious of this and act accordingly.

You can eat normally during the cranberry juice detox diet, but there are some things you should limit or avoid.

  • Nuts and seeds – too many of these may “back up your pluming”, so keep them to a reasonable amount. If you eat raw or vegan, you may be eating way more nuts than you think. Just a few weeks ago I loaded up on nut butters (with chocolate, yum) then was given several handfuls of chlorella tablets. This was a huge mistake! Chlorella is fantastic at cleansing the body, but it had nowhere to go. The first time in years I have been sick. Please do not make the same mistake.
  • GMO food (or GM Food) – Genetically modified food has been shown to cause some problems in the gut. If you are not aware of the dangers of GMO’s, this site is a great place to start.

Things to add:

Probiotics – Once you flush your system (after maybe two days), start bringing in some probiotics. This can bee from food or in supplement form. I recommend something with live cultures (nothing pasteurized). First thing in the morning is better than coffee for giving you that morning energy. But the energy is very clean feeling, and does not “burn your Jing” as Truth Culkins would say.

Super foods – Everyone should be adding Superfoods to their diet, detox or not. I advise to have all the nutrition you need for the day before you even leave the house. Then you do not have to think about your diet so much while you are busy. Try it, it just might change your life.

    I have tried the cranberry juice detox… it was interesting. I have recently tried juice cleanses and it was much more rewarding. I felt healthier and the process was easier since the drinks had a good taste to them and were professionally prepared for me.
