The food manufacturers know MSG is toxic to the body, especially the brain. But hey, it makes it taste good! So even though they know the dangers, they are finding ways to add more of it to your food using other tricky labels.

Why would they do this?

Because it is addictive, which equal profits. If given a choice, your body will continue to eat the products containing MSG over those that do not. Therefore, food companies are falling over themselves to find new ways of poisoning you to increase the bottom line. You cannot trust the food companies on this! Please educate yourselves and your loved ones to the dangers of MSG.

Even if your food says NO MSG, look again, you may just find one of these OTHER names for MSG (that do not contain the name glutamate).

  • Gelatin
  • Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein
  • Maltodextrin
  • Sodium Caseinate
  • Textured Protein
  • Yeast Extract

But wait, it gets even CRAZIER!

To avoid the MSG label or the others above, food makers (I use this term loosely) add acids or enzymes that can be combined with things that produce MSG. I know, I know, how careful can you be? It seems like there is almost no way to get away from it. And if you are eating out, they can say “we do not use MSG” and add it, or things to combine to make it, to everything they serve you!! If you see the words “enzyme” or “protease” in the ingredients, take a closer look. It is likely they are adding the makings of MSG to your food, which will combine when you eat it.

What to do?

Obviously, avoid MSG whenever possible. Read the ingredients of the things you buy, and educate yourself on the typical lies the food companies perpetuate on you (like the low fat diet, low cholesterol diet, etc…). Try to stick with as many natural, whole foods as you can.

Detoxing from MSG

It is likely that most of us have ingested MSG. Many of us pounds and pounds of it every year. Most of the damage from that ingestion is done. It is time to start the repair! We recommend two things right off the bat. Start drinking superfood shakes and taking omega-3s right away. Anything that will restore balance to your brain is a great beginning. We also recommend taking 5-HTP and CoQ10 for a few weeks with plenty of fresh spring water.
